If you’re a fan of South Louisiana music and want to hear the result of a young musician teaming up with over a dozen Grammy-nominated artists, then go support Caleb Elliott on Kickstarter. A singer, songwriter, guitarist and cellist, Elliott’s debut album is being produced by Tony Daigle, who’s worked with everybody from B.B. King to BeauSoleil, Scarlett Johansson and The Givers at his Dockside Studios. But that’s not the only big name associated with this project. Elliott will be joined by Tom Drummond from Better Than Ezra on electric bass, Mitch Reed of BeauSoleil on fiddle, New Orleans’ Doug Belote on drums and more.

Watch Elliott’s Kickstarter video below to get an idea of his folksy, and quite catchy, sound. We’re glad to have him in Lafayette, although we don’t expect to be able to hear him for free at local restaurants and bars much longer.

Update: Caleb Elliott’s project has been funded. We’ll keep y’all posted on the progress and release of his album.
