A Sidecar Named Desire

In celebration of the Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival, SoBou bar manager Laura Belluci crafted a Tennessee Williams-inspired cocktail. Williams called New Orleans his “spiritual home,” and in honor Belluci mixes cognac, apricot, lemon and bitters with a nod to his famed “Streetcar Named Desire” play. SoBou will have the drink on their menu throughout the month of April, and Belluci will be hosting a Tennessee Williams-themed Literary and Drinking Round Table at the French Quarter restaurant April 21.

2.5 oz. Pierre Ferrand cognac
2 bar spoons apricot preserves (sweeten with sugar only)
2 dashes Angostura bitters
.75 oz. lemon juice

Shake, pour into glass and top with cinnamon.
