Rebecca Lynn Aulph, great work. Love the article and interview and what fun Music City Suds is. I may not qualify for this giveaway, but anytime I can talk about old country music, I feel compelled to do so. I can't narrow it down to just one song, so here's three instead:

1) "Folsom Prison Blues" by the great Johnny Cash, because I used it in my first novel during one of my favorite scenes and for this line: "When I was just a baby, my mama told me, "Son, Always be a good boy, don't ever play with guns." But I shot a man in Reno..." http://youtu.be/lWsuVuw5JO4

2) "Satin Sheets" by the great Alabamian Jeanne Pruett (from Pell City, no less). What a song. I first heard it during a magical trip to Fort Morgan, AL, sitting on the open porch of a beach-front rental, watching the moonlight hit the waves. http://youtu.be/gZutNGdcqH0.

3) A tie because I can't help falling to pieces when Patsy sings (http://youtu.be/iuZTk1hdpMs) and I believe that when Ricky Skaggs plays that mandolin, God smiles: http://youtu.be/S8bLjIMX3bE

It makes me a man of constant sorrow (http://youtu.be/GDA708XlFIo)to not include the Coal Miner's Daughter (http://youtu.be/jhjiXSghdTw) or Willie's "Whiskey River" (http://youtu.be/C6cvHBUVLb4), but sometimes life presents tough choices and this is one of them.

Thanks for including the Center for Southern Folklore in your article! Come on back for some "meatless" greens and yummy hotwater cornbread, mac and cheese and our peach cobbler with Maggie Moo's ice cream.

We present music in our Folklore Store or Heritage Hall every Friday and Saturday night. Check our website and facebook page for details and information. Friday night, May 25th Star and Micey present an all ages show. And Saturday night, June 2nd Kate Campbell will perform during her new CD release. And make your plans now to attend the Center's Memphis Music & Heritage Festival, Sept 1-2!
