Fried Green Tomatoes at the Atlanta Folklife Fest
Today, the Atlanta History Center, which includes the Margaret Mitchell House, is holding its Fall Folklife Festival. Contributor Beth McKibben is attending with her family and tweeting lots of pics. Our favorite so far is the one below. “Fried green tomatoes and Mac n cheese were farm staples. As was cheese-making,” she tweeted. We gotta admit, farm life is sounding better and better. Wonder if they had sweet tea to go with those tomatoes.
If you’re in the Atlanta area, head on over to the festival, which lasts through 4:30 p.m. today. Be sure to stop by the Phickles Pickles booth and check out the Southern Foodways Alliance’s series of short films, in addition to the Slave Cabin where this photo was taken.
