South Louisiana’s Dockside Studio has seen its fair share of famous musicians. B.B. King, Arcade Fire and BeauSoleil have all recorded there, so it’s no surprise that Lost Bayou Ramblers’ hauntingly beautiful new album “Mammoth Waltz” was made there. It’s also no surprise that special guests like Gordon Gano of The Violent Femmes, actress Scarlett Johansson and French actress and singer Nora Arnezeder sat in on recording sessions. Watch Rolling Stone magazine’s new video of the making of “Mammoth Waltz” below to get a peek into what it’s like to record an album on the banks of Vermilion Bayou and catch of glimpse of Gano on fiddle and Johansson singing French with a cheatsheet. Taylor Guarisco of The Givers also makes an appearance.
