Travel South Arkansas
From now through next Wednesday, we’ll be traveling through Arkansas as part of this year’s Travel South Showcase. We spent last night in Fort Smith and visited the town’s bordello turned visitors center, and today we take a ride on the Arkansas Missouri Railroad before arriving at Crystal Bridges Museum of Art. Tomorrow it’s Eureka Springs and ghost stories at Crescent Hotel & Spa, then we head back to Little Rock for the showcase.
We’ll be posting pics, video and updates throughout the trip and wanted to share a photo of “Miss Laura,” the former bordello owner who gave us a tour of the restored visitors center last night and filled us in on the building’s past activities. We’ve also got a pair of stories by Arkansas writers today in honor of Literary Friday.
