Smookie, parts of it were filned at the Greenwood Plantation. I have been there, toured the home and have viewed actual pictures of the cast taken there on the front steps of this magnificent plantation.

North and South was setting for Justices home. The plantation originally burned down in the 60’s and was in the process of being rebuilt when the mini-series helped pay for the cost so they could use it for filming.

Can you recommend books, fiction or non-fiction based on Oak Alley Plantation?
Erin Z. Bass / Author / January 20, 2016
The Cutting Season by Attica Locke is a fictional mystery set on the plantation. You may want to check your local library for nonfiction books about Louisiana plantations, where Oak Alley would be included.

A shame what has happened to Houmas House.
I know it is among other things a private residence, but you would think the state of Louisiana would have more control over what becomes of these beautiful historic treasures.
The current owner’s tacky taste overshadows the historic grandeur of the home.

You failed to include The Cottage Plantation in your list. It should be included in the locations for Band of Angels.
