Ghost Hunting at the Bourbon Orleans

Enroll in Ghost Camp at one of New Orleans most haunted hotels later this month.

The Bourbon Orleans Hotel is partnering with Gray Line New Orleans and New Orleans Ghost Hunters for its second annual Ghost Camp September 11-14. In addition to hunting for ghosts inside one of the city’s top haunted hotels, the camp includes seminars, tours, a radio broadcast, gala and seance.

Kick off the weekend early at the welcome reception in the haunted May Bailey’s Place at the Dauphine Orleans Hotel and then take a Ghosts & Spirits Cocktail Tour through the French Quarter. On Friday, the Steamboat Natchez embarks for a Ghosts On The Mississippi dinner cruise, followed by the Saturday Night Gala Ghost Hunt.

Along with the Bourbon Orleans hotel, tours and other events include haunted locations like Café Beignet and St. Louis Cemetery #1. The Ghost Camp Seminar will feature Dr. Alan Brown, author of over a dozen ghost-related books including Haunted Natchez, discussing the paranormal world and Carolyn Morrow Long on voodoo queen Marie Laveau and notorious New Orleans figure Madame LaLaurie (brought back to life in “American Horror Story: Coven” last season).

A Spirited Scavenger Hunt, seance, gris gris bag making and a haunted mansion tour round out the weekend, and Saturday’s gala features costumed characters from haunted New Orleans. On the final day, guests will receive a Ghost Camp 2014 certificate and participation reward.

Event packages are $500 per person for the camp or $1,000 per person for the camp and three nights stay at the hotel. Guests can also sign up for events individually. Registration ends on Wednesday, September 10. See the full schedule of events here
