‘The Awakening’ Cocktail

Created by Beverage Director Julia McElroy at New Orleans Grand Isle restaurant, the Awakening Cocktail was inspired by the novel of the same name. Written by Kate Chopin, The Awakening is set in 1800s Grand Isle, Louisiana, a popular summer resort town for affluent New Orleanians and tells the story of a woman who learns freedom of expression. This cocktail harken backs to old-time summer splendor, wading on the shores of Grand Isle.

2 oz. Grey Goose Pear Vodka
1/2 oz. lemon juice
1/2 oz. simple syrup
1/2 oz. orange flower water
3 oz. Roederer Estate sparkling wine
Lime twist

Mix the above ingredients together expect for the sparkling wine and shake thoroughly. Strain into a martini glass, top with 3 oz. Roederer Estate, and add a lime twist garnish.
