Get A Poem A Day For National Poetry Month

We observe National Poetry Month in April by publishing a Southern poem each day. 

As we’ve done in years past, we will once again be posting a poem a day during National Poetry Month in April. The largest literary celebration in the world, National Poetry Month marks poetry’s important place in our culture and our lives. We’ll be using the hashtag #npm16 to tag our poems, along with interviews with poets and other coverage, throughout the month. You can check our Facebook and Twitter feeds each morning for that day’s poem.

In addition, National Poem in Your Pocket Day is April 21, and the Academy of American Poets also encourages participation by memorizing a poem, buying a book of poetry from your local bookstore, attending a poetry reading or signing up for a poetry class or workshop.
