
Inspired by Compere Lapin Chef Nina Compton’s father’s recipe served at family gatherings, this spin on a New Orleans original cocktail is one you won’t want to miss out on this holiday season.
Bourbon milk punch is a holiday staple in New Orleans, but Compton’s version uses dark rum instead. This refreshing cocktail would be perfect for Christmas or New Year’s Eve and could easily satisfy a crowd.
1 bottle dark rum
4 large eggs
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract or scraped vanilla bean
1 splash Angostura bitters
Place all ingredients in a blender and then puree for
about one minute. Garnish with cinnamon or nutmeg.
