TurnRow Books owner Jamie Kornegay's debut novel 'Soil' is a longtime coming for both the author and the town of Greenwood, Mississippi.
Jamie Kornegay and his wife opened TurnRow Books in Greenwood, Mississippi, in 2006. Since then, they've stocked the shelves with a continuous supply of Southern and Mississippi Delta literature, from fiction to cookbooks, memoirs and children's books. This month, Kornegay can add his own debut novel Soil to the collection. We interviewed him recently about the book, the writers who've influenced him and also asked him about the next wave of Mississippi writers whose books he'd excited to promote. Listed below, these writers all have connections to the state, whether being born there or having attended or taught at Ole Miss. Their books, including several signed copies, can be found at TurnRow and online here.
