Southern Sound: Summer Playlist
It’s that time of year again when we find ourselves taking long road trips and soaking up the sun. Our Southern Sound Playlist from the Georgia Boys of Summer will help you get in the mood.
The title track of Luke Bryan’s sixth Spring Break album Like We Ain’t Ever is the kind of music that will make you want to light up a bonfire and call all your friends over. While it may be a spring break party song, its rhythm is sure to carry throughout the summer nights.
Brantley Gilbert released his Just As I Am album last month and the song “Small Town Throwdown” featuring Justin Moore and Thomas Rhett is the perfect party music for any summer night. This is the type of song that you will find yourself singing along to the chorus automatically.
Miranda Lambert released two singles off of her upcoming album Platinum. “Automatic” and “Somethin’ Bad” featuring Carrie Underwood make you remember why she is such a strong woman in the country music industry.
Last month Rascal Flatts released its album Rewind, and the title track has quickly become a chart-topper. You do not even have to add this to your playlist, because it is sure to be on an small town country station anywhere you go.
The men of Florida Georgia Line have a sound that just screams summer anthem. ‘This is How We Roll,” “Cruise” and “Round Here” are just some of the examples of songs that you will be singing along to this summer.
“Chillin’ It” from Cole Swindell’s debut self-titled album has just the right beat to get you in the mood for any road trip to the beach or lake. This song has just enough of a party sound to have you singing along: “Girl, I love rocking with you when, girl, we’re just chilling it.”
Later this summer, artists like Miranda Lambert, Toby Keith, Willie Nelson and Brad Paisley are all releasing new albums, and I am sure those will have tracks to add to the summer playlist as well.
So take some time to rewind while you’re chillin’ it like we ain’t ever done it before with this summer playlist.
